چکیده
In this study, a plant-based adsorbent was used in order to remove lead, nickel, cobalt and cadmium metals from wastewater sample collected Sungun mine real wastewater. The biosorbent one of the most abundant native plants region, named Chrysopogon zizanioides (C. zizanioides). root powder C. heavy sample. characterized by FTIR, SEM, HR-TEM, EDS, BET ZPC analyses. effect pH, initial concentrations, contact time temperature on biosorption process were accurately investigated. metal concentrations significantly reduced lower after process, which indicated that removal efficiency more than 95% for sample, with maximum adsorption capacities 31.78, 21.52, 26.69 27.81 mg/g, Pb(II), Co(II), Cd(II) Ni(II) ions, respectively. Furthermore, kinetic results showed pseudo-second-order model correlated experimental data well, correlation coefficient values 1 all metals. Isotherm studies illustrated Freundlich Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) isotherm models could describe obtained equilibrium well. Moreover, D-R model, it found type physical. thermodynamic demonstrated metals’ an exothermic spontaneous process. reusability be several successive cycles, also percentage recovery adsorbed biosorbent, Altogether, being simple cost-effective having high rate, fast kinetics, easy separation prove shows significant performance waste effluents.

Ions from Aqueous Solutions by Biosorption Processes
Due to the disadvantages of heavy metal removal from aqueous sytems by conventional methods, alternative new methods have been investigated lately. Biosorption is one of these new methods. In this method, metal ions are transported into cell structure, and removal is ensured by several mechanisms that occured between living or non-living microorganisms and metal ions. The metal removal, the use...
متن کاملToxic metal removal from aqueous solution by advanced Carbon allotropes: a case study from the Sungun Copper Mine
The sorption efficiencies of graphene oxide (GO) and functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (f-MWCNTs) were investigated and elucidated to study their potential in treating acid mine drainage (AMD) containing Cu2+, Mn2+, Zn2+, Pb2+, Fe3+ and Cd2+ metal ions. Several layered GO nanosheets and f-MWCNTs were formed via the modified Hummers’ method and the acid treatment of the MWCNTs, respec...
متن کاملBiosorption of copper (II) ions from synthetic aqueous solutions by drying bed activated sludge.
In the present work, the usefulness of dried activated sludge has been investigated for the removal of copper ions from synthetic aqueous solutions. Kinetic data and equilibrium sorption isotherm were measured in batch conditions. The influence of some parameters such as: contact time, initial copper concentration, initial pH of solution and copper salt nature on copper biosorption kinetics has...
متن کاملBiosorption of Copper Ions from Aqueous Solution by Flammulina velutipes Spent Substrate
To remove heavy metals from aqueous solution and reclaim valuable materials from mushroom byproducts, Flammulina velutipes spent substrate (FVSS) was developed as a novel biosorbent for copper ion removal. Batch experiments demonstrated that ion removal was pH-, biosorbent dosageand initial metal concentration dependent. The maximum removal capacity of 15.56 mg/g was achieved at pH 6.0 with a b...

A method was developed for the separation of CdII, PbII, PtII, CoII, NiII, BiIII, CrII, CuII and HgII bis(2-hydroxyethyl)dithiocarbamate (HEDTC) complexes by micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography. The complexes were formed by pre-capillary reaction of the metal ions with an excess of the ligand and then separated using a 100 mm borate buffer (pH 9.2) containing 4% methanol (v/v), 10 ...
